On Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays you are more than likely to go to fringing reefs around the Whitsunday Islands like Hook and Hayman Island. Dive and snorkel spots as Maureen’s Cove, Luncheon Bay, Blue Pearl Bay and Mantaray Bay are common but be surprised by one of the spectacular “parachute-drop" spots.

Dive Time's dedicated dive 'cat' is broad, stable, and comfortable and boasts a large, protected outside deck area, freshwater deck rinse down and interior shower and toilet facilities. A large swim-step and long boarding ladder made for easy sea access to the water and each trip allows for three snorkeling and two to three dive stops. We take into account the number of guests, their preferences and, of course, the weather. You can purchase cold drinks such as water and soda on board. Vegetarians and dietary requirements can also be catered for , just let us know in advance.

The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system, composed of roughly 3,000 individual reefs and 900 islands that stretch for 2,500 kilometers. The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in north-east Australia and thankfully a large part of the reef is protected by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

The diversity of animal and plant life found on the reef is impressive with 400 species of coral, 1500 species of fish, 4000 species of mollusks, 500 species of seaweed, 215 species of birds, 16 species of sea snakes, 6 species of sea turtles, and many more . . . It is the most diverse ecosystem in the world and has kept marine scientists busy for decades.

Visibility is about 3-15 m around the islands and 5-25 m at the outer reef (visibility is depending on the tides and the weather). The average temperatures in winter (April - November) 21 - 24 Celsius and Summer (December - April) 24 - 29 Celsius. Protection in winter we would suggest a 3 - 5 mm wetsuit and in summer a lycra suit (stinger season) or 3 mm wetsuit.

The use of dive/snorkel equipment is complimentary and we provide the tanks and weights. Intro divers are permitted to a max of 12m, Certified Divers up to 18m and with dive computers 25 m max. All dives are guided with experienced instructors who know the area very well and choose the best dive sites for you. Bring your camera and enjoy the fantastic marine life the Whitsunday's have to offer
